Nockberge Biosphere Reserve
A Different Kind of Natural Adventure in the Nock Mountains
Here the marmots whistle … and every day you will meet adventure. Such as the thrill of observing a shy herd of deer. Or enjoying exquisite specialties such as the rustic Karlbad, an old-fashioned bath house from the time of our great-great-great grandparents, on the Nockalm Road. The hikes will lead you up to heights of almost 2,500 metres, with beautiful views but without the rocky harshness of the Tauern mountains.
The Nock Mountains are invitingly curvy, perfect for “easy-going tourism”. They welcome hikers and nature-lovers; people who aren’t necessarily looking for extreme adventures but rather want to, upon closer inspection, perceive pristine nature and the carefully preserved cultural landscape of the past.
The Kirchleitn holiday village is located in the middle of the Nockberge Biosphere Reserve at a refreshing 1,350 metres above sea level, where the air is clean. Here in about 185 km² of national park, you can see, taste, smell, and feel nature each and every day. You will once again find everything you loved on holiday as a child…
