Around the Priedröf
You’ll need good calf muscles for this trip, which is one of the most beautiful near Kirchleitn. Bad Kleinkirchheim is the starting point, but you can also start right from Kirchleitn as the trail on the Spitzeck runs through St Oswald. From Spitzeck you’ll pedal over the Brunnachhöhe to the St Oswald Bockhütte chalet – hopefully you will still have some energy left! Otherwise, you can take the National Park cable car as it is free with your Kärnten Card.
Then head downhill! You will follow single track trails and hiking paths into the Langalmtal valley, where you will certainly enjoy a rest at one of the chalets. Next stop is St Peter and Obertweng (there are very few asphalt trails here, it is mostly forest roads), and along the forest trails back to Bad Kleinkirchheim. If you aren’t ready for a relaxing trip to the spa by now, you could always hit the trail again!

Fis Franz Klammer Tour
The tourism office is the starting point of this tour and from here you will head directly uphill towards the Drage-Hüttn hut and the Kaiserburg mountain station. Riding along the ridge, you will pass the Rossalmhütte chalet and continue to the “Strohsack” – be sure to take a break here as the views are truly amazing. It is at the “Strohsack” that the Franz Klammer FIS slope begins in winter. But you can leave this behind – you’re here to bike, after all!
After a short meadow trail, your next waypoint is the Maibrunnhütte chalet. A forest road runs downhill to Bad Kleinkirchheim. When you arrive back let your tired muscles relax in the spa!
