Hiking routes for big and small hikers in Carinthia
Hike with the children alongside the water, climb up a crisp summit with your partner or even hike on a long-distance hiking path? We present to you some of the paths that await you around the holiday village Kirchleitn.
ALPE ADRIA TRAIL
Endurance hiking deluxe from the Großglockner to Carinthia’s most beautiful mountain regions to the Adriatic sea and Trieste. The Alpe Adria Trail was created out of existing paths that form one long hiking experience over 750 kilometres. The single stages are around 20 kilometres each and take approx. 6 hours each. The trail also crosses the Nock mountains around the holiday village Kirchleitn. Two of these wonderful Alpe Adria Trail stages can be explored from Kirchleitn.
Kirchheim valley round (12.8 km - 5 h)
The ideal beginner’s hike for the first day of the hiking holidays. Rather a walk, but a very beautiful circular path around Bad Kleinkirchheim. Discover the connection of nature and the face of the village in the tourism village, the thermal baths with healthy water, the active agriculture and idyllic farms. Also do not miss the delicious Carinthian cuisine, such as cheese noodles from Mrs. Penker in Kaning or the awarded beef ham from the Hübel farm in Bad Kleinkirchheim.
St. Oswald river path (6.3 km - 2 h 15) and alpine round (8.3 km - 4 h 50)
Follow the St. Oswald stream to its source region. Alongside the stream, you will encounter canyons with small waterfalls, museums as contemporary witnesses such as the lime kiln, an old sawmill, the old smithy and mills. For the little ones, there are playgrounds next to the stream - pure nature at the water! Those who still have energy left can continue to hike up to the summit of the Steinnock.
Nock mountains biosphere park round (7.5 km - 3 h 20)
Hike in the nature reserve and discover it from its most beautiful perspectives: From the mountain station of the biosphere park cable car Brunnach you hike across green mats, along mountain sides and past the Pfannnock Lake - a foot bath will refresh you. Don’t forget about the time to catch the last ride down the mountain with the biosphere park cable car Brunnach.
Mallnock alpine round (12.5 km - 5 h 40)
Just below the Wegerstadel barn you start your hike, first on the century-old animal track of the Kirchheim farmers, then to the two Nock summits: the Mallnock and the Klomnock with a marvellous mountain view. Along the St. Oswald stream you go back to the holiday village where the hot sauna is already waiting for you.
