Family holidays in the chalet in Carinthia
Your family hotel in the lodge village in St. Oswald
Be in the middle of it all instead of just on the side-lines in your Kirchleitn chalet village. In the middle of nature, surrounded by mountain hiking trails and bike routes along fish-filled lakes. In the middle of a family paradise with plenty of adventures for guests young and old. So, get ready to learn about everything that awaits you on your summer holiday!
“We might just have to stay a while longer...” is something we often hear in Kirchleitn - because the time you spend here is simply too short to experience all the adventures that are in store for you and your family. You will have your work cut out for you if you want to reach mountain summits, take piggy-back or pram-friendly panorama hikes and cool your tired feet in a mountain lake at 2,000 metres in altitude. We are certified experts in subjects such as laughing in alpine pastures, whispering in the woods, giggling by babbling streams or grinning from ear to ear in the mountains.
Child-friendly apartments in cosy lodges in Austria
A family holiday in the chalet village Kirchleitn is simply incomparable. The accommodation alone, no hotel, but cozy hut apartments in Carinthian lodges, is a true experience for the whole family. The family apartments offer separate bedrooms with cuddly beds, an own kitchenette with microwave and dishwasher as well as free WLAN.
There are no cars in the whole holiday village. Your children can romp freely in their play between the chalets and you do not need to worry.
Swimming during your summer holidays in Austria
The beautiful lakes in Carinthia, with their incredibly clean water and lots of fun things to do, are just waiting for your visit. Explore the water by kayak, ride the waves on a surfboard, learn to sail or simply enjoy the feeling of the sand between your toes. In bad weather, you can also choose from two thermal baths - the Kathrein family thermal baths with their 80-metre-long slide and the Römerbad with wild river and huge selection of saunas for adults.
Bike trips with baby trailers on the Höhengrat or sunrise hikes starting at 3:40 am are part of our bread and butter, as are more than 100 excursions included with the Kärnten Card - from the wildlife park to the world of legends to caves where you can dig for garnets!
That’s even without mentioning that a relaxing day at the village’s pond with plenty of fun things to do is very much a part of a family holiday.
Your children can look forward to the following offers in the chalet village:
- Basket swings
- Water playground
- Slide playground
- The small farm with petting zoo
- Football pitch
- Campfire place
And these are only some of the highlights for your little wild ones ... and you can just relax in a lounge chair or hammock while you wait for your kids to thank you for choosing Kirchleitn as your family holiday destination. Or you let yourself be indulged in the nearby Finnish blockhouse sauna.
Kids' Programme at the family hotel
We have tailored our kids’ programme perfectly to your young adventurers - kids’ needs change depending on their age. So leave babies under the age of 1 with the Kirchleitn babysitters. Specially trained child-minders are available three half-days a week for 1-to-3-year-olds. Our kids’ programme is available five days a week and features fun and adventure with new friends. Get up close with the forest and streams, branches and roots, stones and timber... don’t just get close to nature, be a part of it! Teens love our slackline, football tournaments on our own football pitch, creek walking and trail running.
Ranger programme for kids
Our one-of-a-kind survival training is distinguished in Europe. In the Kirchleitn Nock Mountain Ranger programme for kids aged 8 and older, a biosphere park ranger will teach kids about nature, but youngsters will really learn a lot about themselves. While you let yourself be pampered in the holiday village or enjoy a well-deserved timeout with your partner, your loved ones discover Carinthia's wilderness. The following adventures will await the little wild ones:
- cross streams
- go tracking
- set up camp for the night
- build a bonfire with wooden bows
- eat wild plants
- milk cows
- spend the night in the hay barn on an alpine farm
- GPS tracking
- work a water mill
- meet fish breeding experts
In all of this, adrenaline rushes are included! Don’t forget your equipment: hiking gear, sturdy shoes, moderate physical fitness, pocket knife and torch... just in case. Your kids won’t be the same after this fun adventure - it is guaranteed to be an unforgettable memory in your lodge holidays in Austria!
