Honestly:Kirchleitn isn’t a mountain hut
If you’re looking for a hut, you want wood, a stove, peace and quiet and no reception. We’ve got all that. What we haven’t got: the gravel track, the generator and the outdoor loo. Kirchleitn is a village of old and new wooden houses at 1,350 metres, every apartment with tiled stove, kitchen, bathroom and fibre broadband.
Instead of being alone on the mountain, you live among neighbours you brought along yourself. The Greisslerei (village shop) at the gate replaces the shopping trip down in the valley, and the village sauna replaces the hut sauna. And the car stays outside, just like up on the alp.
